The main parts of the show are the demonstration areas where
artists and craftspeople come and work, and are available
to answer questions. They have their work around them for
sale, but the emphasis is on working and showing people how
things are made or created. Demonstrating artists are not
charged to participate: in fact every facility is provided
to allow them to be free to demonstrate and to be themselves.
In the demonstration areas we take a small commission on sales
made by artists during Art in Action to help
defray the cost of presenting the festival.
Another part of the show is The Market where
craftspeople can rent space for three days to sell their work.
They may demonstrate if they wish, but it is not obligatory.
